“Let There Be Light”

“Let There Be Light” is a fashion fantasy project inspired by Athena’s iconic promotional look from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18. Rather than simply recreating the original image, the goal was to evolve it into something more cinematic and immersive, transforming Athena into a glowing figure suspended inside a golden-hour dreamscape. Using layered lighting techniques, reflective surfaces, and warm metallic tones, we built a surreal world where light felt alive, bouncing through the fabric, the floor, and every movement of the garment.

The shoot combined dramatic editorial posing with precision lighting and high-end beauty retouching to create images that feel ethereal, powerful, and almost celestial. Every detail, from the reflections beneath her to the warmth sculpting the skin and costume, was intentionally crafted to elevate the fantasy while preserving texture and realism. “Let There Be Light” became more than a recreation of an iconic drag look. It became a reimagining of it through a more refined, fashion-driven, and cinematic lens.
